Name a brand in the affordable price range, instruments selling for roughly $500. or less and we sold it from 1978 to 2002. Over those years we could see a steady decline in the quality of woods, materials and workmanship of those mass produced, mass marketed products. It didn't seenm to matter how big or small the brand name. The set-up work they required then and today is massive. Also the lack of care and appreciation by these companies for both you the retail customer and quality and service oriented Guitar Speciality Shops like ours became an unbearable burden. Finally in 2002 we launched our own line of instruments. For a brand and headstock logo, spring boarding off our well know and respected name Guitar Works seemed to be a solid, simple, L.L. Bean kind of way to get sales rolling immediately and it worked!. The simplicity of the brand name combined with our higher quality instruments, each completely set-up and adjusted for proper play and our expert and caring customer service has resulted in thousands of sales and extremely satisfied customers from coast to coast.
